Registration books close 29 days before any election. All new registration applicants and party change requests must be received by a voter registration agency or postmarked on or before that date to be eligible to vote in the election.
On January 1, 2006 Florida implemented a state-wide voter registration system. Moving between counties in Florida is now considered an address change and not subject to the 29-day book closing requirement which applies to persons registering for the first time in Florida. However, the 29-day book closing requirement still applies to party changes.
